Last updated : Friday 17th October 2008 So many people have asked if we support the iPhone, we felt that it deserved a page of its own. UPDATE October 2008: Following trials of the online iPhone system, we are now embarking on a version of PilotLog Offline for iPhone. Although successful, the online version is still hampered by roaming data charges when abroad. We now intend to produce an offline program, while continuing work on the online iPhone program. Hopefully one day the networks will catch up and we will be able to use a data connection anywhere in the world... Although Apple have released an SDK (software developer kit) for the iPhone, it is currently only in a beta stage (ie for testing only), and in any case there is currently no mechanism for UK developers to release software. All programs must be checked by Apple before being released, and we simply cannot do this until they provide a process for us to submit a program. Apple's website says that this ought to happen 'in the coming months'. With a bit of luck, we may see progress by the end of 2008. What we can do, and are currently working on, is to provide online access to your log book from an iPhone (or indeed any other small mobile internet device). This will have many benefits, not least the power of our server behind the program, providing checking of data as it is entered. We currently have a working program for adding and editing flight details, and will be proceeding to add more features once we have some feedback from real-world users on the success of the project so far. You can access the 'mini-website' in its current state at www.pilotlog.co.uk/mini.php on your iPhone, PDA or mobile phone.
