Search Database
Tools -> Search Database
The above screenshot is the main log search window.
You can enter a date range to limit the results. If only one date is entered, the other limit will be assumed to be the start or end of the log.
- Entries in the 'Aircraft' box will attempt to match against aircraft registration, name or type.
- You can search for a particular person, in either operating capacity, and also if their name appears in a flight comment. Simply check the boxes next to 'name' to search the appropriate fields. By default, 'name' will search in PiC and Co-Pilot only.
- 'Airfield' will attempt to match a name, ICAO or IATA code, and for departures, arrivals (or both) by ticking the appropriate boxes.
- 'Crew Capacity' allows you to only view flights where you operated in a particular capacity. If all boxes are checked, or all are unchecked, this option has no effect. If you check one or more options, only flights with matching crew capacities will be returned.
- 'Comment' will search for text in all or part of the flight comment.
- '% Hours Claimed' will limit the results to flights matching, different to, greater or less than the entered value, depending on the selected option. Selecting 'Ignore' will return all flights, regardless of the percentage entered.
- The flight attribute options all default to 'ignore'. These can be used to return, for example, all flights marked as autolands, or all flights which are not autolands.
- Setting 'Validation Errors' to 'yes' will return all flights where an aircraft or airport has not been recognised in the database. This will highlight any typographical errors made during data entry, and also show any aircraft or airports which you may need to add to the database.
All flights returned by the search will be displayed in the main log window, in date order.
Once search criteria have been applied to the database, a warning will be displayed at the bottom of the log page to that effect. A link will also be displayed, which can be clicked to remove the search filter.
The simulator log search works to the same principles as the main log search, above.
Search options are also provided for the aircraft and airports databases. These also work on the same principles as above. The only significant difference is that these include an option for 'Self-Entered', 'User-Entered' or 'Verified' data.
- Self-Entered entries are those which can be edited, or deleted if not in use.
- User-Entered entries are those which have been entered by any user including yourself. This may be useful for checking for errors in the airport database if you get unexpected results from time or distance calculations.
- Verified entries are those which have been checked by MJICCS and 'locked' into the database.
