'Number of rows to display per page' sets the number of flights, sim details, aircraft or airports to display on one page. The same setting will be applied to all views, including printed pages. The value can be set from 10 to 50 rows, allowing the user to adjust the display to fit comfortably on their screen or printed page.

Log page breaks can be set to start a new log book page at the start of each calendar month, or year. If 'year' is selected, the month on which the year starts can be defined in 'Logbook year starts in'. The page break setting applies only to the main log, both on screen and printed. Selecting 'none' will display all flights continuously.

'Statistical year starts in' allows the user to define a starting month for their hours-accounting year. This will display, for example, a year-end marker in the appropriate month on the rolling 12-month chart (e.g. if you set the year to start in April, a marker will be placed in March, at the end of the year).

'Display hours totals as' allows selection of hours and minutes, or decimal hours to either one or two decimal places. This setting affects only displayed values so changing to decimal, then back to minutes, will not affect the accuracy of your stored data. Note that times are stored internally as minutes, so certain decimal values will be subject to rounding when entered in the simulator log (e.g. 0.11 hours is converted to 7 minutes, which will be displayed as 0.12 hours). This is a universal setting which affects on-screen display and printed pages.

'Day/night rounding' - when hours and minutes are selected above, you can choose to round day/night calculations to the nearest 5, 10 or 15 minutes. Rounding will be overriden by the requirement for day + night = total, so flight times should be entered to the same degree of accuracy as is selected here. The default value is to display day/night times accurate to the nearest minute. Rounding is unavailable if you select a decimal display option (it is applied automatically to 0.1 or 0.01 hours).

'Display airports as' allows selection of full airport name, or alternatively ICAO (4-letter) or IATA (3-letter) airport codes, to save space. This setting does not affect how your log prints, only the on-screen display.
'Display aircraft type' (set to 'none' by default) can be enabled to display aircraft type next to the registration in your log. 'Detailed Type' will show the full ICAO type for the aircraft (e.g. B737-436 or PA28-161). 'Short Name' will display the aircraft name as entered in the Add Aircraft window (e.g. 737-400 or Warrior II). 'Full Name' will display the manufacturer and aircraft name (e.g. Boeing 737-400 or Piper Warrior II). If no aircraft details are found in the database, aircraft type will be displayed as 'unknown'. This setting does not affect how your log prints, only the on-screen display.

The 'Screen font size' option allows you to select a larger or smaller text size to suit your display. We recommend making any adjustments in small increments; if you set the font size too small to read on your screen, it can be difficult to change it back! The default size is 12; this is the text size that PilotLog was designed with, and most screens work optimally at this size.
